Otoe County approves interlocal agreement to continue Southeast Nebraska Adult Drug Court

At its May 5 meeting the Otoe County Board of Commissioners approved an interlocal agreement among Otoe, Richardson, Nemaha, Johnson and Pawnee Counties to continue the Southeast Nebraska Adult Drug Court for fiscal year 2026–27.
Melanie Stormer, the county’s Chief Probation Officer, presented the probation office’s budget request for FY 2026–27 totaling $13,231.15. Chris Reece, Problem Solving Court Coordinator, described the Adult Drug Court program and presented a program budget of $6,096.15 for the same period.
Commissioner Freshman moved to approve the interlocal agreement; Commissioner Crownover seconded. The motion carried with Sornson, Freshman, Parsons, Crownover and Cole voting aye and no dissenting votes recorded.
The interlocal formalizes continuing participation among five counties in the Southeast Nebraska Adult Drug Court; the board recorded approval of the agreement and the budgets presented. The court and participating counties will proceed under the terms of the interlocal for 2026–27.
