The Woodbridge Board of Selectmen on July 8 authorized First Selectman Mika Cardozo to sign an employment agreement with Scott Roberts for a contracted four-year administrative officer position.
Cardozo told the board the administrative officer role is required by the town charter and serves as a chief operating officer; the position had been filled by Tony Genovese in a dual role for 13 years. Cardozo said the board interviewed candidates through a professional recruiter, and she introduced Scott Roberts, who attended the meeting. Selectman moved to authorize Cardozo to sign the revised employment agreement prepared by counsel and the motion carried.
Cardozo said Roberts is expected to start on Monday and she looks forward to working with him on town priorities. The board indicated it will continue to process remaining personnel items, including presenting a public works candidate to the personnel committee for consideration and scheduling a special meeting if needed.
What happens next: Cardozo will sign the agreement as authorized; town staff will onboard Roberts and the personnel committee will resume work on remaining hires.
