Galena council approves full-time hire, bank transfer and multiple municipal projects

The Galena City Council on July 14, 2025 approved a series of routine personnel, financial and public-works actions, including offering a full-time position to a city employee and transferring three water certificates of deposit to Table Rock Community Bank.

Councilmember Deana Wells moved to "offer Danielle Whitworth a full-time position, 40 hours per week," and the motion was accepted, according to the minutes. The vote was recorded as carried on a roll-call vote.

The council also voted to transfer three water CDs (numbers 7586, 7587 and 7588) to Table Rock Community Bank; the minutes record Deana Wells, Amanda Parton and Stephanie McIntyre voting yes on the roll-call motion.

Claire Beyer moved to give Carmen Malloy, identified in the minutes as City Collector, a raise effective immediately; Stephanie McIntyre seconded and the motion carried with "all in favor," the minutes show. The council listed Carmen Malloy among employees present earlier in the minutes.

The council accepted the annual audit after an item listed "SUSIE REYNOLDS (AUDITOR Decker and Pace)" on the agenda. Amanda Parton moved to accept the audit; Deana Wells seconded and the motion carried unanimously.
