The Fulton City Historic Preservation Commission on Jan. 12 adopted a Certified Local Government (CLG) review flow chart intended for CLG submission after discussing deficiencies identified during a recent CLG evaluation.
Commissioners discussed how the commission’s limited authority under the city’s current historic preservation ordinance and the absence of adopted design guidelines affect the body’s ability to review building permits and renovation activities. The flow chart submitted for adoption reflects the commission’s current role under existing ordinance language and clarifies when review does and does not occur.
Commissioner Warren Hollrah moved to adopt the submitted flow chart for CLG submission; Vice Chair Robert Wise seconded. The motion carried unanimously. Five commissioners were present and the minutes record the motion as carried unanimously. The commission also agreed to continue discussion of next steps related to the CLG evaluation, grant opportunities and future planning.
The commission’s next regular meeting is scheduled for Feb. 9, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. The meeting adjourned at 2:08 p.m.
