City staff updated the council on the Greenbelt Landing project and the upcoming Clive Festival and ribbon cutting.
Richard said final landscaping and finishes are underway and showed recent drone imagery taken June 15. He outlined a schedule that culminates in a city ribbon cutting tied to Clive Festival on July 17 with an afternoon program of remarks and photos, followed by music, vendors and fireworks. The council heard plans for parking management, golf-cart shuttles from several overflow lots, and dedicated bicycle parking with space for nearly 80 bikes across the site.
Richard also said an art sculpture being shipped from Ottawa, Canada, will arrive and be installed in early July and that staff plan a few smaller, component ribbon-cutting events the week before the festival to highlight specific features (playground, water access, wetland work) should partners wish to hold separate ceremonies.
Council members asked about ADA parking and shuttle logistics; Richard said the city had worked with nearby lots and Mercy to ensure adequate availability and will provide golf-cart shuttles from overflow lots to the main event.
