At the Jan. 6, 2026 Planning and Zoning Commission meeting, Community Development Director Amy Starck told commissioners that staff has received one new petition for the Feb. 3, 2026 meeting and intends to bring a request to rezone certain parcels currently zoned St. Louis County 'NU' Non‑Urban to the City's 'NU' Non‑Urban Residential District to align zoning with the Comprehensive Plan.
Mayor Joe Maurath announced the recent death of longtime resident Jack Brandt, who had been appointed to the Planning and Zoning Commission in 1986 and whose daughter, Mary Heineman, serves as vice chair of the Parks and Recreation/Tree Advisory Board. The mayor also outlined ongoing and planned city projects including street tree removal and trimming, invasive species removal, installation of a new wrought‑iron fence at Fabick Nature Preserve and a future park restroom remodel.
Alderman Ron Harrell reported that a sign plan considered in December had been approved by the Board as recommended. The meeting adjourned at 7:17 p.m.
