Queenstown commissioners donate $100 to QVFD auxiliary, introduce solar ordinance for hearing and enter closed session

Commissioner Tom Willis moved and President Al Hardee seconded a $100 donation to the QVFD Auxiliary for a Nov. 2 Prize Bingo; the motion passed 2-0. Willis also moved to approve the Sept. 24, 2025 regular meeting minutes as written; Hardee seconded and the motion passed 2-0. President Hardee moved to introduce Ordinance No. 25-06 (amending solar energy equipment provisions in the zoning ordinance to comply with the Brighter Tomorrow Act) and to schedule a public hearing on Nov. 12, 2025 at 6:00 p.m.; Commissioner Willis seconded and the motion passed 2-0.
At 5:01 p.m. Commissioner Willis moved, and President Hardee seconded, to close the regular meeting and enter a closed session under the Maryland Open Meetings Act to discuss a personnel matter and obtain legal advice; the motion passed 2-0. The closed session record states the meeting was held at Town Hall and that no actions were taken during the closed session. The public meeting was reconvened and adjourned at 5:18 p.m.
