Student council presents mission statement; board approves

The Hackberry Elementary School District #3 Governing Board approved the Student Council’s mission statement on Sept. 9 after the Student Council president and vice president presented the statement to the board.
Board President Leanne Donason and members moved and seconded an agenda change to hear the student presentation earlier in the meeting so the student leaders could attend. Following the presentation, Pam Adams moved to approve the mission statement, Leanne Donason seconded, and the motion passed 3‑0.
The minutes record the approval but do not include the mission text in full; the student leaders and board celebrated the collaborative effort. The board then returned to the regular agenda.
