Dangerous structure: The board held a notice-of-hearing for 129 Hillside Drive; the owner and/or occupant did not appear after certified notice. City Clerk Shelley Smythe informed the board that certified letters had been sent; Alderman Corey Novotney moved to continue the dangerous-structure process, Alderman Kyle Guerrant seconded and the motion carried.
Liquor license: After receiving a letter from the local Presbyterian Church noting it had no objection to a nearby daycare, the board approved a liquor license for Thacker's Mini Pub. Alderman Rudy Via moved for approval and Alderman Cary Parker seconded; the motion passed unanimously.
GDA contract: The board approved a resolution authorizing a $5,000 contract with the GDA. Alderman Rudy Via moved and Alderman Cary Parker seconded; the motion passed.
Public works purchases: Public Works Director Davey DeFrenne requested authorization to purchase two sewer nozzles priced at $879.64 and $1,314.47. Alderman Cary Parker moved to allow the purchase, seconded by Alderman Kyle Guerrant; the board approved the purchases.
Other actions: The board entered a closed session under RSMo 610.021(3) to discuss personnel matters and returned to open session later; no personnel outcomes were disclosed in the minutes. Police Chief Jim Helton also reported receipt of three AEDs donated by Between the White Lines.
The meeting adjourned at 7:32 p.m. The board's next regular meeting is Nov. 14, 2024, at 6:30 p.m.
