The Harrisburg School Board returned from executive session on March 30 and approved a number of personnel actions recommended by Superintendent Julie Isbell.
Isbell recommended rehiring a broad roster of certified staff for the 2026–27 school year; the board voted to approve the rehiring list (motion by Jeremy Lally, second by Bridgett Hewitt), recorded as 5‑0 in the minutes. The board accepted resignations from Kelli Langston‑Gibson and Emillee Hammett effective at the end of the 2025–26 school year, and accepted a resignation from Amy Thaxton effective April 1, 2026. The board also approved hiring Cynthia Stover as a classroom teacher at Weiner Elementary, pending licensure.
Earlier in the meeting the board had convened an executive‑session student expulsion hearing after the parent/guardian and student did not appear; the superintendent presented a recommendation to expel student #562200470 for the remainder of the 2025–26 school year. The minutes record that the hearing occurred in executive session and that a recommendation was presented, but do not include a public vote or a recorded outcome on that recommendation. The board adjourned at 8:56 p.m.
All personnel motions recorded in the minutes show unanimous approval; the minutes list the rehired staff by name and note the effective dates for the accepted resignations where provided.
