Highway Building Advisory Committee cancels Mutton Road site walk; wetlands permit needed for driveway culvert

The committee canceled a planned site walk of the Mutton Road property after members said recent weather had left the parcel wet and overgrown and a tractor could not reach the driveway. Brett Walker told the committee that a wetlands permit would be required for the culvert on the driveway portion of the lot, a permitting requirement that complicates efforts to gain access and perform mowing or other site work.
Hoyt said he will ask Town Administrator April Rollins to contact the property owners to request permission to enter through a locked gate for the purpose of mowing; the minutes refer to those owners as "the Habor’s." The committee agreed that if mowing and access can be arranged, a site walk will be scheduled for July 9 at 6:00 p.m. The committee reviewed Building Plan Rough Draft #3 and made no changes because members could not measure the proposed building placement without on-site access; they agreed to revise the draft once placement is determined.
Chair Hoyt moved to adjourn at 7:17 p.m.; Brett Walker seconded and the meeting adjourned. The committee set its next meeting for Wednesday, July 9, 2025, at 7:00 p.m. upstairs at Academy Hall.
