During discussion of Resolution R2024‑70 — a change order to the 2024 sidewalk and curb maintenance improvement project for the Boyatt Streetscapes — Administration staff explained that Foundation 1 assessed numerous sidewalk panels for polyjacking and identified several that are ineligible and must be replaced as full panels. "There’s some worn-out ADA paneling and some other cracks in panels," said Steven (Administration), noting photos of affected panels and that work would be funded from the contract’s force account, a previously approved contingency within the contract amount. Steven said roughly $16,000 would be used from that account to cover the additional replacements. The council approved the change order by voice vote.
The council also passed Resolution R2024‑72 to repair storm‑sewer corrugated metal pipe following an incident on July 5. Steven told the council staff solicited multiple bids and selected Redford Construction as the lowest bidder; Redford has about a two‑week lead time and the project could be finished in October. "We got multiple bids and staff decided on this bid," Steven said. The resolution was approved by voice vote.
On ordinances, the council advanced and passed Bill 2024‑73, amending the FY2025 operating budget to add $38,000 to the expenditure budget. Council members said the funds would cover an emergency repair. The motion carried by voice vote.
