The Sanbornton Board of Selectmen on Jan. 14 authorized Fire Chief Paul Dexter to enter into insurance contracts with multiple carriers, provided the contracts conform to the standard State‑issued language.
Deacon moved to allow the Fire Chief to enter into contracts with Anthem Health Plans of New Hampshire (d/b/a Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield and Matthew Thornton Health Plan), Cigna, Granite State Health Plans, Harvard Pilgrim of New England, and Boston Medical Center Health Plan (d/b/a Wellsense Health Plan). The motion also authorized entering into contracts with Aetna and UnitedHealthcare so long as those contracts conform to the State standard. Selectman Glenn Frederick seconded the motion and the vote was unanimous.
Chief Paul Dexter also told the board that the school district had submitted a reunification plan that would bus students to Old Town Hall in an emergency and that the Fire Department would assist; Selectman Deacon asked that the Town Administrator review the document and consider whether town counsel should review the memorandum of understanding/possible memorandum of agreement.
