Oshkosh Advisory Board schedules public input session on draft sustainability plan for Aug. 6

Members of the Oshkosh City Sustainability Advisory Board on July 6 said the first community input team meeting produced useful analyses — including work on urban tree canopy — and announced the first public input session on the draft sustainability plan.

Emma told members the public session is scheduled for Thursday, Aug. 6 at 5:30 p.m. in Lower Level Room AB of the Oshkosh Public Library. Committee member (voice 3) described the initial input meeting as successful and said participants received homework and marching orders to refine potential goals and objectives ahead of the next meeting.

Board members discussed the next steps: review of materials by the community input team, a subsequent early-fall public opportunity when a draft plan is expected, and continued opportunities for the public to provide feedback. Emma said the community engagement department will post updates and that members may forward items to her for routing to communications, although placement on city social channels cannot be guaranteed.

Why it matters: The public input sessions are the first broadly open chance for residents to review preliminary goals and suggest priorities that could shape municipal sustainability actions, including tree-canopy targets and stormwater measures.
