Warner to seek 75/25 grant for culvert repair; highway garage restoration ongoing

Alfred Hanson read a report from Herm Blanchette outlining the highway garage restoration and equipment status. Finance Director Clyde Carson told the board the Highway Department and town staff secured, pending governance and Legislative Council approval, a 75/25 grant totaling $139,000 to replace a culvert over Barkley Brook, with work planned for July–August 2027.
Ed Mical, the town’s Emergency Management official, said he received approval to update Warner’s Emergency Operations Plan and Continuity of Operations Plan and will return this summer seeking Select Board approval of $7,000 in grants included in the Emergency Management budget.
No formal votes were required for the informational updates; the board will consider any funding or contracting actions related to the culvert and garage work in future meetings once state approvals and project specifications are confirmed.
