Hanson elected chair as Warner Select Board names vice chair, sets meeting schedule and committee assignments

Alfred Hanson was elected chair of the Warner Select Board on March 17 after a unanimous roll‑call vote, and Rick Bixby was named vice chair in a separate unanimous vote.
The reorganizational motions were moved and seconded by fellow Select Board members; both nominations were accepted by the nominees. The board then approved a standing meeting schedule of the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month at 6:00 p.m., with any required work sessions held at 4:00 p.m. before the regular meeting.
The board assigned Select Board members to standing committees. Rick Bixby will represent the board on Parks and Recreation, Agriculture and Roads committees; Mike Smith was assigned to the Conservation Committee, Highway Safety Committee, Planning Board and Economic Development advisory role; Alfred Hanson was assigned Municipal Records, the Energy Committee and serves as the board’s Budget Committee liaison. Members noted the town letterhead should be updated to reflect the new board membership.
Chair Hanson also asked that a standing Department Heads agenda item be retained so department managers appear periodically before the board. The board discussed clarifying whether expedited agenda deadlines apply to Department Head submissions and agreed to draft an agenda template in the coming weeks.
