The Brentwood Ways & Means Commission on April 2 voted unanimously to forward proposed Fiscal Year 2025 budget amendments to the Board of Aldermen with a recommendation for approval.
Finance Director Michelle DePew told the commission the city's finances remain steady but that several funds experienced unanticipated overages requiring formal amendment. The items listed in staff documents include:
- Municipal Operating Fund: original $2,237,744; amended $3,105,105; over by $867,361. - Police: original $4,798,958; amended $4,813,907; over by $14,949. - Public Works: original $1,819,612; amended $1,834,860; over by $15,248. - Sanitation: original $768,500; amended $893,234; over by $124,734. - Capital Improvements Fund: original $4,185,904; amended $5,168,435; over by $982,531.
Alderman Jeff Gould moved to forward the amendments and Alderman Sullivan Erger seconded; the motion passed unanimously. DePew said the amendments reflect year-end adjustments and unanticipated costs and that staff will present the amendments to the full Board of Aldermen for final approval.
The commission did not adopt policy changes as part of the motion; it forwarded staff-recommended amendments for aldermanic consideration.
