Select Board approves Parks & Recreation appointments and agrees to revise commission bylaws

Jason, a representative of the Parks and Recreation Commission, asked the Select Board to approve one new appointment and three alternate appointments and to revise the commission’s bylaws.
"The Parks and Recreation Commission would like to recommend Lindsay Perot to be a member of the Parks and Recreation Commission," Jason said, and also recommended John Comrie, Jody Phillips and Kendall Brier as alternates. He said two of those alternates were reappointments and one was a new appointment.
The board moved and seconded to approve the slate of appointments and then took a roll-call vote. The motion passed with members voting in favor.
Jason also asked the Select Board to revise recently approved bylaws language to increase the number of alternates from three to up to four to accommodate a requested fourth alternate. The board approved the requested wording change by roll call.
Board members said the appointment paperwork would be circulated for signatures and that the new appointee would be sworn in according to normal procedure.
The board did not discuss changes to compensation or duties for the commission; the action was limited to approving appointments and the requested bylaw wording amendment. The appointments will be finalized when appointees sign required forms and take the oath for service.
