Sanbornton safety panel sets quarterly schedule, assigns building inspections

The Town of Sanbornton Safety Committee met May 8, 2025, at the Town Office and confirmed required quarterly meetings while setting assignments for building safety inspections.
Town Administrator Trish Stafford said the committee is required to meet quarterly and that a First Aid log must be maintained. She said logs currently exist at each town building but asked staff to report any accidents or near misses at the quarterly meeting so Land Use Clerk Audry Barriault can keep a consolidated log at the Town Office.
Committee members also discussed coordinating with the newly formed Buildings, Grounds & Maintenance Committee to incorporate the Primex General Building Checklist into town building inspections. Audry Barriault said that, at the next Safety Committee meeting, each member will choose a building other than their own to inspect for hazards and complete the checklist.
Roles for each Safety Committee member were not finalized; the committee agreed to discuss and assign specific roles at the Aug. 6 meeting. The committee scheduled that next meeting for Wednesday, Aug. 6, 2025, at 11 a.m., and listed expected attendees as Audry Barriault, Police Administrative Assistant Cal Di Nitto, Police Chief Steve Hankard, Firefighter Ken Carleton and Highway Department Director Johnny Van Tassel.
