Cornelius reports grant application for Tarrybrooke Park ADA upgrades; River Bend Park named

Barbara Fryer, Community Development Director, briefed the PIAB May 12 on recent City Council actions and planning work. Fryer said that on May 4 the council adopted Resolution 2026‑26, authorizing staff to apply for an Oregon Parks and Recreation Department Local Government Grant for Tarrybrooke Park ADA improvements and play equipment. The council also adopted Resolution 2026‑08, which named River Bend Park.
Fryer outlined upcoming Planning Commission items, including a one‑year extension request for the Calida project that will require infrastructure and footing completion within the extension period for approval, and a work session on legislative changes and vendor permits. For long‑range planning, Fryer said consultants have drafted a billable lands inventory as part of a Housing Needs Analysis, Portland State University students will assist with a Comprehensive Plan amendment project beginning in fall 2026 under a League of Oregon Cities contract, and a town center parking study is underway.
Fryer also reported that 15% plans for the TVHWY Transit and Safety Project are complete and that construction intergovernmental agreements will need to be prepared and brought to City Council as the project advances. The PIAB received these updates for its information; no PIAB vote was recorded on the grant application or planning items at the May 12 meeting.
