Silvis announces in‑person help for residents applying to Tri‑City $1.2M housing lottery

City staff will offer in‑person assistance for residents who need help registering on Jan. 12 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Silvis City Hall.
Jerry said the program is intended to help lower‑income homeowners remain in their houses by funding repairs such as handicap ramps, roofing, siding, painting or fencing. "If we do not spend 1.2 million on those 25 projects, we will have another lottery to continue it on. We are hoping to do this each year," he said.
The administrator said qualifying information is being distributed on water bills and posted on the city's Facebook page; he also said local media will run notices. Residents who need help signing up may visit City Hall on Jan. 12 and staff will assist.
