A board member clarified that the proposed change was not intended to alter responsibilities such as unlocking facilities, but to permit retroactive approvals for use dates outside the established noon–6 p.m. window. After brief discussion, a motion to adopt the revisions, including the exception to remove "in advance" from the facility-use policy, was moved and seconded. The chair called for the ayes and the motion carried by voice vote, with no opposition recorded on the record.
The adopted language will continue to require board approval for use before noon or after 6 p.m. on Sundays, but the process will allow the Superintendent (or an authorized designee) to grant immediate permission and return the matter to the board for retroactive ratification.
