The superintendent said staff have produced welcome videos and pamphlets, provided tours and answered questions for new families, and will meet next week with an SK Hynix human-resources representative to continue outreach. "We're trying to get the word out about that and just remind people," he said.
He cited recent and proposed donations connected to SK Hynix: an $80,000 STEM donation made last fall, a proposed donation of approximately $60,000 for playground work at Burnett Creek (new goals, benches and asphalt), and another forthcoming STEM gift announced this week. He also noted SIA Foundation grants of about $47,000 distributed across schools and thanked district newsletter coordinator Sue for earning a national award for the district newsletter.
The superintendent urged staff and board members to refer incoming SK families to district resources and said the district wants to be "as ready as we can and as welcoming as we can" as families move to the area.
