School resource officer details new camera command center, training plans for Salem schools

"All that stuff is free. I'd like to see a team from all around the building," the SRO said.
Board members praised the improvements and the unannounced drill that helped reveal process gaps; they requested continued updates and suggested expanding cross-training so staff can respond effectively during unstructured times. The board did not take formal action on additional safety funding at the meeting.
Next steps: administrators said they will continue implementing the Raptor suite and bring monthly updates on safety practices and training progress to the board.
