Park Planning Coordinator Todd Miller told the Athens in Motion Commission that Firefly Trail Phase III has a construction inspection scheduled for Friday, May 8, and that staff are addressing a remaining property-owner request related to the phase. He also said a Greenway network plan is awaiting review by the Mayor and Commission and that the Greenway committee will assist Bike Athens with upcoming greenway fix-it kits.
Transportation and Public Works staff reported safety and planning updates. Jason Jones and colleagues presented the March crash report, which the transcript records as 487 total crashes and two fatalities. Katie Goodrum said the Mayor and Commission accepted the Safe Streets for All Plan and staff are applying for a construction grant to fund implementation.
