Karen Kling named Taylor library director as Barb Brueggen retires; board approves $100 gift

Shane Rose told the Village of Taylor board on Jan. 13, 2025 that Karen Kling was offered and accepted the library director position, with a start date of Jan. 13, 2025. The announcement was made during the board's review of the library director report.
Board members also discussed plans to thank outgoing Library Director Barb Brueggen for her years of service. Sheryl Narva moved to present Barb $100 in Taylor Bucks as an expression of appreciation; Steve Roseth seconded the motion and it carried with five yes votes. Tammy Weisman, the clerk/treasurer, will coordinate a small gathering at a time chosen by Brueggen.
The board noted that Brueggen will help with training and cover the library when Karen Kling is unavailable during an initial transition period. No additional personnel actions were recorded in the minutes.
The board's personnel and community service committees will receive details about the hire and the retirement recognition at upcoming meetings.
