Staff described several categories of extra pay — planning coverage, extra runs, handyman and summer mowing pay, mentor pay and substitute incentives — and acknowledged that a custodial vacancy has inflated extra hours for some payroll categories. The district reported it paid a one‑time attendance/absence bonus that totaled $12,007.50, with $500 to qualifying full‑time employees and $250 to qualifying half‑time employees.
Board members asked staff to develop options to rein in extra pay and to provide clearer code alignment on future payroll reports so the board can track whether pay items are general‑fund or grant‑funded. After the discussion the board called for a voice vote on Section 6; the chair announced the motion passed 5–0.
