Daniel Sizemore introduced a Toole Design Group presentation on the plan revision and gave a schedule for commissioner input: submit comments to Chair Lauren Blais by the end of day Friday, June 5; consolidated commission comments will be returned to staff on Monday, June 8; and final Transportation & Public Works consolidated comments will be sent to Toole Design Group by June 26.
Park Planning Coordinator Todd Miller reported that Firefly Trail Phase III is close to completion but has been delayed by weather; he said the trail should open in the next few weeks. Transit planners Jeremy Barnett and Tina Wu said a summer service change will take effect June 4 to improve efficiency.
Transportation & Public Works staff summarized the April monthly crash report (485 total crashes, 0 fatalities) and noted the Vision Zero Safety Action Plan was accepted by the Mayor and Commission in April; staff said they are applying for implementation funding. Staff also told the commission they have applied for a Safe Streets for All grant (seeking $15 million) and provided updates on a RAISE Grant item for North Avenue.
