Mayor Ryan Cheney presented a resolution to remove the current members of the Board of Adjustment and authorize the City Council to preside as the Board of Adjustment. Dan Zieg moved and Jesse Schmidt seconded the motion; the council voted in favor (YES: Zieg, Schmidt, Simmons, Buck).
The council then considered and approved a set of by-laws that will govern the City Council when acting as the Board of Adjustment. Mayor Cheney said the by-laws will apply to the council's new responsibilities under recent municipal-code changes.
Council members did not propose amendments during the meeting. The resolution and by-laws take effect immediately; council staff will incorporate the changes into council procedures and the municipal code as applicable. The adoption transfers any future variance and adjustment matters to the City Council unless the council later alters that arrangement.
