Village of Taylor to submit phosphorus variance and management plan as part of WPDES compliance

Adam Bush, the village maintenance representative, told the board that SEH presented the SRM/Phosphorus Management Plan five-year activities schedule required by the Wisconsin Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (WPDES) permit. Bush said the village expects to submit the Individual Phosphorus Variance (IPV) and the Phosphorus Management Plan (PMP) to the Department of Natural Resources by Feb. 21, 2025.
Bush also reported operational items: a man-lift from Greenleaf arrived so staff could inspect the emergency siren; he arranged a test with Jackson County on Feb. 7 after learning routine Monday tests are not performed in winter and confirmed the siren worked. He said the Woods Edge mobile home community water meter was switched out and staff are replacing meters and addressing cross-connections where residents can be contacted. President Joe Kniseley noted the pickleball court retaping supplies were ordered and received.
The board did not take a formal vote on the WPDES plan at the meeting; Utility Committee members were asked to meet on Feb. 17, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. to review the SEH plan in detail and ensure year-by-year compliance.
