Maintenance supervisor Adam Bush updated the board on utility and facility items at the Oct. 14 meeting. Hydrant flushing was scheduled for Oct. 16–17 and parks have been winterized; boiler servicing is complete pending pH results. Bush said an iron filter inspection is waiting on correct gasket sizes and that the lead service inventory spreadsheet prepared by Jacobs Engineering is ready to submit to the DNR.
Bush reported the emergency siren did not sound at noon that day; he described a likely dead spot in the brushes that may have caused the failure. A motor update quote of $5,388 and an annual maintenance contract priced at $500 were discussed. President Kniseley said he had a quote for parts and labor and that he had checked with Stetzer’s, which indicated they could attempt repairs; trustees asked to obtain a bid from Stetzer’s and asked the county to run another siren test for the village.
No formal motion to authorize the siren repairs was recorded in the minutes; trustees discussed options and monitoring the situation. The board did not record formal DNR commitments or dates for the IPV response in the minutes.
