Tammy Weisman, Clerk/Treasurer of the Village of Taylor, told the board on Feb. 10, 2025, that Jackson County had passed a resolution supporting Pierce Pepin Cooperative Services (SwiftCurrent Connect) with $1 million in funding to extend high-speed internet to nearly 5,000 locations in the county.
The county endorsement was included in the board packet as a notice of public meeting; the village board did not take a formal vote or adopt its own endorsement at the meeting. Weisman presented the notice as part of routine clerk reporting.
No requests for additional action or comment from county representatives were recorded in the minutes. The board will consider local broadband-related items if or when staff place them on a future agenda.
