Selectmen consider $10,000 meetinghouse floor refinish quote and library door repairs

At the Nov. 25 meeting the Springfield Board of Selectmen reviewed Buildings & Grounds recommendations and scheduled maintenance work.
Buildings & Grounds provided a $10,000 quote to refinish and reseal the meetinghouse floor, a cost the board will consider for the 2025 budget; the committee recommended resealing every two years at an estimated $4,000 depending on use. Selectmen noted Chris Gaherty completed rear meetinghouse steps for $1,500 and that B. Manning organized a donation of a stair tread. The library’s handicapped entrance door is scheduled for installation Wednesday by Chris Gaherty; he will also inspect squirrel infiltration and provide a repair quote.
The Board will review building-project lists ahead of its Dec. 9 meeting and consider the meetinghouse floor work and lighting items for the 2025 budget.
