SPRINGFIELD — The Springfield Planning Board on Dec. 19 moved to continue a public hearing on proposed changes to the town's Driveway Regulations and clarified who would pay abutter notice fees if an applicant sought a rehearing.
Chairman Mike Howard opened the hearing on the Driveway Regulations and led discussion about who should bear the cost of abutter notice fees in the event an applicant requests a rehearing. Board members agreed that the applicant, not the town, should be responsible for that expense and directed staff to add wording to the regulation to make that clear.
Planning Board member Ken Jacques moved to continue the hearing to Jan. 16, 2025, at 7:05 p.m.; Planning Board member Darrin Patten seconded the motion. A voice roll call was recorded as unanimous in favor.
No formal vote on the substantive Driveway Regulation language was recorded at the Dec. 19 meeting; the continuance carries the item forward to the Jan. 16 meeting, where interested parties may return to comment.
