Local ministry describes ongoing grocery distributions for Ravenel-area residents

During the public-comment portion of the April 29 meeting, Angelina Estadkov (6145 Wilkes Pond Drive) described a ministry she and her husband run that purchases fresh groceries and distributes them to residents in Hollywood and Ravenel.
"We have been doing this already 4 years," Estadkov said, adding that volunteers pack groceries and the group focuses on providing fresh food rather than relying on the food bank. She said the events are held around Easter, Independence Day and Thanksgiving, and that she hopes to expand frequency if the ministry receives more support. Estadkov thanked the mayor and Tom O'Connell for their assistance and offered to provide contact information after the meeting.
No council action was taken in response to the public comment; the Mayor and other council members thanked her for her work.
