Larimer County manager announces environmental stewardship award winners; commissioners recap regional meetings

County manager Lorenda Volker used the June 30 administrative matters meeting to congratulate three winners of the Environmental Stewardship Awards and to thank the Environmental and Science Advisory Board for its work.

"This year's winners were Jeff Puckett from the City of Fort Collins with the Shift Your Ride program, Peaks to People Water Fund, and Red Feather Lakes Wildfire Defense Project," Volker said, noting the advisory board reviewed applications and recommended the winners.

Chair Jody Shadd McNally and other commissioners gave brief updates on recent activities: attendance at a regional behavioral-health advisory council meeting, a North College/Fort Collins business association event that featured a city update, a tour of the CSU veterinary hospital and Clark revitalization project, participation in natural-resources advisory meetings, and workforce-development graduation ceremonies tied to local GED and employment programs. Shadd McNally thanked staff organizers and highlighted partnerships with CSU and regional stakeholders.

The chair said commissioners were running short on time because of travel to a funeral across the street and kept the meeting brief. With no other business or executive sessions, she adjourned the meeting at 9:21 a.m.
