The Thorp City Council on April 14 approved Resolution 2025-04-01 to accept Pay Application #24 from Staab Construction Corporation for the 2023 Wastewater Treatment Plant Upgrades Project. The resolution passed 4–1, with Alderperson Abramczak dissenting.
City engineering consultant David Walter of Short Elliott Hendrickson reported that the Wastewater Treatment Plant upgrade is 98.7% complete, with punch-list items and pond cover repairs ongoing at the north and south sites. “The Wastewater Treatment Plant is 98.7% complete,” Walter said.
The council approved the pay application by recorded motion M/M/S (Korn/Lawcewicz). The amount listed in the meeting minutes appears to contain a transcription error; the minutes record the figure as "$226,5897.40," which is inconsistent with standard currency formatting. The council vote and resolution number are recorded in the minutes; the exact dollar figure should be confirmed with the City Clerk’s office or the official pay application documentation.
Alderpersons expressed that the project is nearing completion and that remaining work is focused on final punch-list items. No additional contract amendments were recorded at the meeting.
