The council later approved Resolution 2024-12-03 to accept Change Order #10 for $55,717 (M/M/S Korn, Lawcewicz); that motion passed 4–1 with Alderperson Abramczak voting against the change order.
Jerimiah Wendt of Short Elliott Hendrickson, the city’s project engineer, told the council the wastewater treatment plant is "95.5% complete," with ongoing punch-list work, site restoration and drained ponds at the south site for sludge removal. The change order includes driveway repairs with added gravel top dress, extending gravel to the riffraff and adding a concrete pad by the south lagoon; the council recorded a new completion date of June 30, 2025, citing required sludge removal.
The pay application and change order affect ongoing contractor payments to Staab Construction for the 2023 Wastewater Treatment Plant Upgrades Project. Alderperson Korn, who seconded the change-order motion, emphasized the work items in the change order; Alderperson Abramczak opposed the change order but the minutes do not record a public explanation of that vote.
The approvals keep the construction contract moving forward while the council and staff address remaining site-restoration items. The project’s next steps include completing punch-list items and final site grading before final acceptance.
