The Deschutes County Board of Commissioners, acting as the governing body of the Deschutes County 9‑1‑1 Service District, unanimously approved a ratified successor collective bargaining agreement with the Deschutes County 9‑1‑1 Employees Association (dispatcher unit) on July 8.
Staff presented the agreement and described it as a four‑year contract that the association ratified, offering administrative changes and wage adjustments. “This agreement has a COLA range that includes 1 to 4% COLA per year dependent on CPI consistent with other contracts,” staff said, and noted wage modifications for call taker and dispatcher classifications and changes to long‑term shift‑trade processes and leave conversion rules.
The contract also includes administrative changes such as sunsetting retiree health insurance premium contributions for new hires and transition of dispatchers from guaranteed to actual hours in some classifications. Commissioners thanked bargaining‑unit members for their engagement and unanimously moved to approve document 20260545, covering the 07/01/2026–06/30/2030 term.
