Tomah committee recommends approval of multiple event liquor and cabaret licenses

The Tomah Committee of the Whole on April 13 recommended that the Common Council approve a slate of temporary alcohol and cabaret licenses for summer events.
Committee members voted to recommend approval of Temporary Class B fermented malt beverage and Temporary Class B wine licenses for Monroe County Support Services for the Budweiser Dairyland Super National Truck & Tractor Pull scheduled June 24–27, 2026, and for the Monroe County Fair scheduled July 22–26, 2026. The committee also recommended approval to extend hours at the Monroe County Fair Beer Garden at Recreation Park on July 24 and 25, 2026.
Richard Yarrington moved the Budweiser Dairyland license recommendation; Shawn Zabinski seconded. Zabinski moved the Monroe County Fair license recommendation; Yarrington seconded. Mitch Koel moved the extension of beer garden hours; Zabinski seconded. All three motions were recorded as carried.
The committee also recommended approval of a Temporary Class B beer license for the Tomah Lions Club for the Tomah Area Historical Society 2026 Car Show and Concert on May 2, 2026. That motion carried with Shawn Zabinski recorded as abstaining. Finally, the committee recommended approval of a Special Event Outdoor Cabaret License for American Music Programs to host seven "Americana Music in the Park" concerts in Gillett Park during June, July and August 2026; that motion carried.
These recommendations will be forwarded to the Common Council for final action. No ordinance numbers or contract documents were attached to the recommendations.
