Tomah Public Works Commission elects Paul Dwyer president, approves community event permits

The Tomah Public Works Commission elected Mayor Paul Dwyer as its president and John Glynn as vice president at a meeting on May 27, 2026, and approved a series of event and business street-privilege permits.

The commission began by approving the April minutes (motion by Travis Scholze; seconded by John Glynn). Members then voted to install new leadership: a motion by John Glynn, seconded by Dean Peterson, elected Paul Dwyer president; a subsequent motion by Kerwin Greeno, seconded by Travis Scholze, elected John Glynn vice president. Both leadership votes were recorded as all ayes.

Following elections, the commission approved a driveway permit allowing a 35-foot width at the street tapering to 24 feet at the sidewalk, with no width limit between sidewalk and house (motion by Brian Rice; seconded by Kerwin Greeno). Commissioners also approved multiple street-privilege permits covering Tomah Chamber & Visitor Center events (DTN), Americana Music in the Park, the 4th of July Parade, the Holiday Parade, Elbow Room/Kelsey’s and Ethos Green Power Cooperative; motions were made and seconded and each vote was recorded as all ayes.

A proposed memorial bench sidewalk installment was tabled to the next meeting pending specific information, including a map of the proposed location.

The commission concluded these agenda items without further public controversy; procedural votes and permit approvals were recorded as unanimous where noted.
