Leacock Township Manager Chris Slaymaker told the Board of Supervisors at its June 15 meeting that the Lancaster County Planning Commission approved the township’s application for a Solar Ordinance and that the township needs to schedule a public hearing. "The Lancaster County Planning Commission has approved our application for the Solar Ordinance, so we need to schedule a public hearing," Slaymaker said.
Slaymaker told the supervisors they could delay setting a date and consolidate multiple ordinance hearings to reduce costs, a suggestion the board did not object to during the meeting. The manager said the ordinance documents are available on the township website for public review.
The board did not set a final hearing date on June 15. The next procedural step is for staff to place the ordinance on a future agenda and advertise the public hearing under township notice requirements.
