Planner Riley Jacob outlined the site (R‑1 zoning), a 192‑square‑foot proposed grooming area that is less than 25% of the home’s floor area, and draft conditions recommended by the planning board.
Oyerly confirmed the business would be appointment‑only with no boarding and no more than four grooming appointments per day under the proposed conditions; the grooming area will be within an existing fenced portion of the property and customers’ dogs must be leashed while on the outside of that fence.
The planning board reviewed the application on June 2 and recommended the conditions; neighbors contacted staff and raised no objections. Commissioners asked about parking, septic capacity and accessibility; the applicant said parking uses a driveway and that she could assist handicap customers at the curb or retrieve dogs from cars. The board closed evidence after the applicant consented to enter file materials into the record and confirmed the planner’s testimony.
A motion to approve SUP‑2‑2026 and the associated site plan was made, seconded and carried unanimously.
