Clerk/Treasurer Amanda L. Bartz administered the oath to Michael “Hob” Habeck, Patricia Haskin, Robert Soward, Donald Nelson, Tadd Wegener and Steve “Ding” Bartz. After nominations, Donald Nelson nominated Jeff Kahle for council president; Mike Loka seconded. Mayor Michael Habeck closed nominations after asking twice for additional nominations, and the council voted unanimously to elect Kahle as council president.
The swearing‑in and leadership election were part of an organizational session that also included routine committee reports and acknowledgements of staff and community representatives. The council scheduled its next regular meeting for May 5, 2026, at 5:30 p.m.
The meeting followed usual order: roll call, the Pledge of Allegiance, and the oath of office, then moved into administrative items and committee reports. No public comments were offered during the public comment period.
The newly sworn officials and the council president election set the body’s leadership and membership as it proceeds into the coming fiscal and committee work.
