The City of Johnstown Tourism Committee presented a proposal to offer veterans flags for families to purchase and display throughout the city year-round, a committee representative told the Common Council during the May 19 meeting.
Kim Kortz, speaking for the Tourism Committee, said the flags would be available for purchase at a proposed fee of $205, with an estimated usable life of five years and an expected replacement cost of about $135. Kortz told the council that the flags would be displayed throughout the city rather than solely on Main Street.
The presentation was informational; the minutes do not record a formal council vote or motion on the program at this meeting. Councilors and staff will consider next steps during committee and administrative review if the program is advanced for city endorsement or coordination.
Kortz presented visual examples during the meeting; any procurement, public notice or placement rules would be handled through the Tourism Committee and city staff if the program advances.
