Trappe approves revised joint-use agreement for Home Run Baker Park with Talbot County

At its Dec. 3 meeting, the Trappe Town Council reviewed and approved a revised joint-use agreement for Home Run Baker Park between the Town and Talbot County.
Town Attorney Lyndsey Ryan said the county removed language that had required the Town to handle all maintenance and operation. The agreement retains a requirement that the park be open to the public at reasonable hours and that entry be non-discriminatory. Ryan advised the council that the Town needs to prepare a plan for how funds will be handled and that a separate agreement with Home Run Baker Park may be required to implement the plan. She said the joint-use agreement still needs approval and signature by the County Council and hoped it would appear on the County’s next agenda.
Commissioner Walter Chase moved to approve the joint-use agreement and President Newnam seconded; the council voted unanimously to approve. Attorney Ryan noted the approval is a necessary step for the Town to receive related funds but does not complete the county’s approval process.
