At its Dec. 2, 2025 meeting the Town of Townsend Comprehensive Planning Commission denied a request from resident Dennis Hotchkiss to place a 53‑year‑old, 12x60 mobile home on a lot at Meadow Parkway and Mockingbird Lane.
Hotchkiss provided photographs of the unit and said the family planned to cover it with a V‑pitch canopy. Commissioners referenced the town’s current ordinance and the age of the unit in voting to deny placement. Commissioner Drew Zelle moved to deny the placement; Commissioner Joanne Jones seconded the motion, which carried (M/A).
No public comment was recorded on the item. The denial means the applicant will need to pursue other housing options or a variance pathway if available under the town ordinance. The meeting adjourned at 5:40 p.m.
