The Townsend Town Board signed both the 2027–2029 assessor contract and a separate revaluation contract and scheduled a property revaluation for 2027, the board said at its Oct. 14 meeting.
Assessor Jef Muelver met with board members before the meeting; the contracts were signed and the town confirmed the revaluation will take place in 2027. "Both have been signed," the board reported.
Treasurer Beth Hartman presented a profit-and-loss budget performance report and informed the board that Oconto County has updated the tax software. Hartman said the town needs to sign a Tech Transcendent Technologies Software Maintenance Agreement and summarized the recurring fees: $600 per year for tax receipting and $250 per year for pet licensing. "The fee will be $600.00 per year for tax receipting and $250.00 annually for pet licensing," Hartman said. The board subsequently approved the treasurer's report and authorized payment of bills on a motion by Supervisor Willie Evans.
Board members did not vote at the Oct. 14 meeting specifically to sign the maintenance agreement; Hartman presented the cost estimates as information for budgeting. The revaluation schedule means property owners and town administrators can expect updated assessments in 2027; the board did not provide contract vendor names for revaluation work at the meeting.
