Arts Commission approves t-shirt purchase, readies May tabling and October fundraiser

The Warrensburg Arts Commission approved a small merchandise purchase and set outreach plans for spring and fall during its April 20 meeting.
Commissioners voted unanimously to buy 15 Gildan cotton t-shirts from Central Logos at a cost not to exceed $250. Sue Kraus moved for the purchase and Liz Coleman seconded; the commission selected heather gray as the t-shirt color. Allison Robbins will request a mock-up and collect size preferences from commissioners by email.
Allison reported that Poetry in the Park signs have been installed at designated locations and that she, Ana Reed and Maya Kucij will work on promotion. Commissioners discussed staffing a table at the Third Wednesdays art walk on May 20; Sue, Allison and Ana indicated possible availability. Marcy Barnhart suggested a World Cup–themed soccer art project for the May tabling.
Allison also said she will promote the Community Arts Grants deadline in May on social media and suggested a KOKO spot on May 5. One application has already been received, and commissioners encouraged visitor Candace Cameron to submit an application. Allison will draft a press release for Retrograde's previously approved grant.
The commission reiterated that the Eat Your Art Out Halloween fundraiser is scheduled for Oct. 24, 2026, at the Community Center; kitchen facilities and an adjoining meeting room are reserved and the commission has access to the space from noon to 6 p.m. Allison said she will check Mike Elder's availability for the date.
