Gates board approves permits, leases, grant applications and appointments

The Gates Town Board at its June 1 meeting approved a package of routine municipal items including conditional-use-permit renewals, contracts, grants and reappointments.
The board renewed Conditional Use Permits on mass for Byrne Dairy & Deli (465 Spencerport Rd.), Laser Car Wash (3565 Buffalo Rd.), MFA Auto (2800 Manitou Rd.), Open Door Mission (240 Coldwater Rd.), Panera Bread (1502 Howard Rd.), and Papa John’s Pizza (24 Hinchey Rd.) by Resolution 103-26 after staff review found no violations.
Resolutions passed included waiving special event permit fees for the Joe Manuse Foundation fundraiser (Resolution 104-26) and the Villavallelonga Roc Picnic (Resolution 105-26); authorizing a five-year lease with Pitney Bowes for a postage machine (Resolution 106-26); extending the Gates Public Library lease with Gallina Development Inc. for seven years (Resolution 107-26); accepting a vendor contract with Rochester Emergency Veterinary Services, Inc. for dog-related veterinary matters (Resolution 108-26); and approving Atlantic-Inland, Inc. as a certified electrical inspection agency (Resolution 109-26).
The board also authorized a SEQRA Type II declaration and supported an NY PLAYS grant application for a new inclusive playground off Wegman Road, committing more than the program’s minimum 20% local match (Resolution 110-26). Separately, the board adopted SEQRA review and supported applying for the NYS Department of State Community Resilience & Flood Risk Reduction Grant to study flooding on Ford Ave. and First St. (Resolutions 111-26 and 112-26).
Appointments included reappointing Joe Argenta as an alternate member of the Planning Board (Resolution 113-26) and reappointing Abramo (Brom) Bianchi to the Recreation and Parks Commission (Resolution 114-26). The board accepted the Supervisor’s May warrants and reports (Resolution 115-26) and the Town Clerk’s May report (Resolution 116-26). All motions recorded unanimous aye votes as shown in meeting minutes.
The board adjourned at 8:45 p.m.
